3. Check FlexiObox

Verifying the operation of the FlexiObox installation

After preparation and configuration, it is very important for the installer to check the complete setup.

For FlexiO to work correctly, the I/O Diagnostics ✅ should be checked in green.

Go to the FlexiObox IO Diagnostics page.

Checks to be performed

Check 1: Connected

Check to be performed

If not ok

If the FlexiOBox is connected to the Internet and can connect to the LIFEPOWR Cloud, this parameter will be available ✅ .

Important: On the FlexiObox, the green LED must also be continuously lit and the connection icon must be active on the web page of this FlexiObox:

  • Is there a direct cable from the FlexiObox to the Internet modem?

  • Is there a standard Internet connection to the network cable? You can test this with a laptop (turn off the Wi-Fi for a while).

Check 2: Modbus

Check to be performed

If not ok

For a Modbus TCP inverter, this parameter is set ✅ when the inverter is recognized by FlexiO.

The same ✅ for Modbus RTU, if the correct cable has been correctly connected directly from the inverter to the FlexiObox.

Example

  • Check the Modbus cabling between the FlexiOBox and the inverter or the network cable if TCP is selected.

  • Is the correct inverter selected in the list?

  • Is the inverter configured correctly?

  • Is the inverter powered?

  • Does the inverter have the latest firmware?

  • If TCP (inverter via network): are the inverter and FlexiO on the same local network/subnet?

Check 3: Linked

Check to be performed

If not ok

✅ Indicates when the FlexiOBox has been paired with an end user and they have also successfully completed registration.

  • Correct email address entered?

  • Customer mail received and registered?
    Check spam folder if necessary.

Check 4: Configured

Check to be performed

If not ok

If a configuration has been created, this parameter will be set to ✅ "thingName".

Check 5: P1

Check to be performed

If not ok

If the P1 port of the digital meter has been connected, this parameter will be ✅ present when FlexiO receives the meter data.

This applies to both wired and wireless P1 connections.

  • Is the P1 port enabled?

  • Is a wireless P1 (HomeWizard) installed?

  • correctly configured?

  • on the same network/subnet as the FlexiOBox?

  • If there is no P1 connection, please also specify here (Has P1 port = unchecked).

Check 6: Battery Management System (BMS)

Check to be performed

If not ok

✅ when there is a connection between the inverter and the battery BMS.

  • Wiring between the two not OK?

  • Check the battery configuration on the Device Details page.

  • BMS defective?

Check 7: EV

Check to be performed

If not ok

✅ If a charger has been configured, FlexiO will automatically recognize the selected charger on the network.

  • Correct charging station selected?

  • Are the charger and FlexiO on the same local network/subnet?

Check 8: Eastron

Check to be performed

If not ok

✅ if a HomeWizard Eastron meter is set in the settings and FlexiO automatically recognizes it (as expected).
If this is not the case, an error is generated here.

  • Are the settings on the HomeWizard Eastron meter set correctly?

    • 1-phase settings

    • 3-phase settings

  • Is the HomeWizard Eastron meter API enabled (default = off)?

  • Are the HomeWizard Eastron meter and FlexiO on the same local network/subnet?

If the above diagnostics are not checked ✅ , please refer to the installation and training documentation on our platform or contact our technical help desk.
