Tariff Selection and Tariff Settings
Your energy tariff
You always have the freedom to choose your type of energy contract. To get the most out of FlexiO, it is more beneficial to switch to a dynamic contract. FlexiO can ensure that you inject or take-off power at the most optimal times, allowing the same system to generate more savings.
What is a dynamic tariff?
Your digital meter records how much power you take-off or inject back to the grid every 15 minutes. A dynamic tariff calculates the price based on the same interval. Your take-off or injection is billed every hour according to the market price at that time. The electricity you take-off at 7:00 PM today will be billed based on the market price at 7:00 PM today.
With a dynamic tariff, you pay the price that is valid when you take-off energy or receive the price that is valid when you inject energy. The opportunity is that you can shift consumption to cheaper hours. The risk is that you might take-off more during expensive hours.
With a non-dynamic tariff, your actual consumption profile is not used. Instead, your consumption is divided according to a standard profile: a single average profile used for the entire market. This default profile is the same for you, your neighbors, the bakery on the corner, or the café in the town square. If you take-off power at 7:00 PM today, the grid operator assumes you take-off that electricity according to the standard consumption profile — a fraction at 7:00 PM itself, but also at other times.
With a non-dynamic tariff, you don’t pay for what you actually take-off but for what an average user would have take-off. There is no opportunity because it assumes you use energy the same way as an average user.
Listing of your energy tariff
You have understood correctly: the listing of your energy tariff in the FlexiO account is very important.
Your energy tariff is a key parameter for FlexiO. It is the basis for intelligent control and the calculation of savings.
The installer records your energy tariff during the activation of the FlexiObox in the FlexiO account. If this changes later, you can update it via your MyFlexiO app.
Your Information in the MyFlexiO App
Single tariff with FIXED price.
A single fixed price is set.
For your energy consumption, FlexiO uses a fixed price. The price to be entered is for energy only, excluding network charges, levies, and taxes (6%). However, FlexiO does take these components into account.
For energy injection, a fixed price is entered. This price is also for energy only, excluding network charges, levies, and taxes (6%).
