PV panel details
FlexiO solar panel types explained
There are 2 types of Photo Voltaic (PV) panels which can be configured in FlexiO:
PV panels
Retrofit Panels
☀️ PV Panels are (newly) installed solar panels connected to a hybrid inverter to which the home battery is also connected.
:Solar: Retrofit Panels are existing solar panels operating on their own inverter. The battery was subsequently added on a proprietary ‘Retrofit’ battery inverter.
Why this difference?
While solar panels are connected to a hybrid inverter (PV Panels), the production of this installation is read by FlexiO, as FlexiO communicates directy with the hybrid inverter.
With Retrofit Panels, the production of the PV panels comes from a different inverter and FlexiO must be able to collect this data.
In this last case, LIFEPOWR highly recommends to install a Homewizard Eastron Wi-Fi kWh meter to be able to read out the Retrofit production.
Mind: this meter should reside on the same local network (Wi-Fi) as the FlexiObox. FlexiO will then automatically recognize the meter.
More tips and tricks regarding network setup can be found on this page.

HomeWizard Eastron Wi-Fi meter
If no direct readout of the existing PV installation is possible, FlexiO will make its own calculation using the available data from the digital meter and the home battery inverter. The home consumption and solar production will then be firmly underestimated and thus insufficiently validated in FlexiO's savings.
Always try to avoid such situation by equipping the installation with a HomeWizard Eastron meter.
