Modbus

First things first

Important: also users are notified via the FlexiO app of this error.

LIFEPOWR strongly encourages user interaction as first basic intervention step:

  • Faster as most of the time on premises/local

  • It might solve the error without any further intervention required from installer and/or LIFEPOWR

Correlated error page to user can be found here.

Explanation

FlexiO cannot connect to the inverter, or the connection quality to the inverter is below a certain threshold.

A Modbus error implies that FlexiO isn’t running.
The installation might or should be self-steering capable and thus fall-back to the local steering of your inverter.

Required action

FlexiO/FlexiObox connection to the inverter fails or QoS is under a certain acceptable threshold.

  1. First try to reboot Inverter/BMS.

  2. Secondly, check if the inverter is running on the minimal required firmware.
If not, upgrade the firmware to the required version.

If the problem persists:

  • Modbus RTU: might be bad or bad connected Modbus RTU cable, replace the cable.

  • Modbus TCP: either badly connected network connection

    • In case the inverter is connected via Wi-Fi: did the password or SSID recently change?

    • Any router or power-line in between? Reboot these network devices and check if all cables are well connected and internet connection is up
